The Shower

I have been so busy planning a shower for my sons fiance,( they are getting married on May 8th.) i haven't been able to update my blog, plus i was still having problems with it (the blog) anyway the shower was on April 21st and i think it went over pretty good. i made pretty much everything from the invitations

                                                            puff balls (made from coffee filters)

                                                      wings (made from an old book)

                                                                 the front door

                                                            the favors(wax seal on back)

                                                   handmade little muslin bags that held

                                     a small card and a handmade bookmark( each one unique)

        we had a food buffet with glass plates, baskets, metal baskets to serve the food.
and i just had to make a banner for the fireplace...

                                         we also had a dessert bar and i made tiny blackboards so everyone knew what the food was and to top it off a bouquet made of door knobs

                                      i have to say it came out beautiful. it was a great day!

quilting...

i'm kinda stuck right now i've been workin off and on, on a quilt for my son and his soon to be wife. But i keep finding myself stuck, not sure what to put on it, or write on it, not sure of colors, so i keep postponing working on it, don't you just hate when that happens! It's going to be in a map style where each new place is significant to something in their lives of course leading up to their marriage. ok stop procrastinating and get to work,(she told herself.) The quilt will be great!

blog troubles...

having trouble trying to post to my blog today, computer doesn't like me, so using hubbies laptop.

kitchens...

Anyone else in mood to redecorate? me...tooo... i would love to make my kitchen red! wow, yeah gotta make sure its right before attempting something so strong. i do love this kitchen though...

i love the vintage home feel of this. i also like different color cabinets, not so white perfect looking as in some peoples houses. i would rather have the lived in country feel, like an old farmhouse.

new year...

Why does every year start out tight on money? i don't understand it. But by March everything is back to normal. Oh well just sit back and let it ride. i have entered three drawings into a gallery just for fun, have never really done this before. A whole new experience, to be judged, not to win anything but if people like it they can purchase them. I had a hard time with it, the profectionist side of me. I need to lighten up on myself. I am proud that i accomplished them, as somehow i managed to hurt my back again, so trying to sit and draw was a little painful, to say the least. I believe this year i will try some new art and get back to dawing, i miss it. I did make a new cork board i am in love with, just not sure where to put just yet? I will post a pic of it soon.  And cleaned up my studio, so ready to takle some new project...
